Caring for cancer patients is the most clinical care we provide.
At Compassion Massage, we are focused on improving quality of life for our clients living with cancer, those who are in remission, survivors and caregivers, by reducing physical and behavioral symptoms that accompany cancer treatment.
According to the Mayo Clinic, one in three patients undergoing cancer treatment experiences cancer-related pain.
Why Choose Compassion Massage?
And they have reported enhanced body image and sense of well-being while experiencing improvements in their sleep and appetite.
A recent meta-analysis of nearly 600 cancer patients found massage therapy significantly reduced pain compared to the conventional standard-of-care alone, and was particularly effective in eradicating surgery-related pain.
How it works
Although there are many common side effects of cancer treatment, we approach each client living with cancer individually. Our approach is highly customized and at our clients’ convenience.
Getting started is easy.
Initial Phone Consultation
Our massage practitioners spend more time for the initial consultation to learn the specifics about each client’s individual cancer history and treatment. A telephone interview is done before the first scheduled appointment so that our staff can be prepared to meet our clients’ needs.
Develop an Individualized Plan
We work with our clients to develop an individualized plan of care specifically tailored to meet specific accommodations and special circumstances.
The first massage is conducted in comfort at our clinics. Special effort is made to provide maximum comfort, using the bodyCushionTM system (www.bodysupport.com). The bodyCushion is a state-of-the-art positioning system that allows a person to lie in any position without unnecessary pressure on soft tissue areas, ports, or ostomy bags.
If you are living with cancer and would like to experience relief from symptoms during and after your cancer treatment, or if you are a loved one caring for someone living with cancer, contact us today to schedule your initial consultation.
